You might have heard of some recent trends over the past few years, but you may not know what they're all about or why we think they’re happening.

For instance, do you recall how fast fashion and e-commerce are merging to become one big thing? And don't you want more tech-driven wardrobe staples? Or will there be a future in wearable health trackers for your body? We'll make sure you'll always find out the answers to these important questions in this post.

A few weeks ago, we wrote an article on our blog "Why Is This Trend In Fashion Important Now?"

What is it about?

When people consider style, we don't think of clothes as just being things; we think of everything that has value and meaning. From the material used to the overall look, we also think of the culture behind it. For example, before we had iPhones, we had hand soap and toothpaste. Before they came along, we also had hats and sunglasses but most importantly, the world was less of a global village, allowing us more freedom and variety in dressing. We might no longer need the hat or glasses because we can travel or go for our weekend vacation without having to worry about fitting in. While still following the same rules that made up the previous decade, if someone were traveling internationally they could enjoy the same comfort and luxury as we now do without leaving home. In addition to just travelling outside the country, we see how brands are pushing boundaries by creating more unique products, not only from their collections but as well as making their stores at major international shopping malls. We see how some of the biggest names like Gucci and Burberry have even put together digital shows from their showrooms where you can take in all the elements of the store in real life.

What is what it is?

There are several key areas to consider when considering the new 2021 fashion trends. These are:

The rise of athleisure in fitness

The evolution from monochromatic to polychromic

The return of streetwear (tough)

The emergence of veganism

The movement towards eco-friendly alternatives

The focus on sustainability

The rise of fintech in social media marketing

The fusion of tech and design

The next trends

From those who follow fashion news on social media, we've seen different trends emerge. Some of them are already here, while others will be hitting the road in early 2022. Check this list below to get caught up with what's expected in 2022.

1. FASHION TIGHTENING UP

We've seen this trend take hold during 2020, but it didn't begin in earnest until the end of last year. As designers continue to emphasize the importance of fabric, a lot of loosefitting clothing has been pushed to the fringes. A large portion of the market is focused on sportswear and activewear and we see a mix of colors such as black, white, blue, green, pink, silver and gray. There's also some dark browns and greys that pop right into light blue shirts, which are the least saturated colors. However, a solid color seems to rule the roost with floral designs popping up almost around every corner. So far, the results have been rather good; with accessories like purses and earrings popping out like flowers, we haven't seen many bright colors in soft fabrics but we'll definitely see more so that way. Moreover, many influencers have been doing videos on TikTok where they show off their looks. By adding little details to make the look better, they're able to show off the pieces in ways they never could on Instagram. Whether it's the makeup or the styling choices, these types of posts work very well. Plus, it allows people to feel a sense of control and control in purchasing, which is something we have been missing these days. It also gives consumers a reason to buy a particular piece of clothing.

2. GLOBAL DIVISION IN MATERIALS

The popularity of recycled materials continues to grow with companies like Lush using faux fur, recycled plastic bottles, bamboo straws and other recycled materials combined with leather and wool to create various apparel items. Other brands like Stella Artois, Tommy Hilfiger, H&M are experimenting with both natural fibers and synthetic ones. One of the reasons that they're doing this is more than just wanting to make clothes easier to use. They want to improve the aesthetic of the environment without putting too much strain on Mother Earth, as opposed to simply trying to make clothes to be more eco-friendly.

It should come as no surprise that retailers are jumping on the bandwagon for their sustainable practices and promoting recycled materials as part of their collections. The likes of Fossil Free and Glamor recently collaborated on a collection celebrating the impact of recycling. In addition to wearing recycled goods, they shared their personal experiences of how eco-friendly their product was to help spread awareness about the issue. Another brand called Sustainability Collective offers plenty of online resources to try some of their sustainable lifestyle tips. Since these are geared towards men, the options include t-shirts, hoodies, and sweatshirts. No matter what type of item you purchase, it will be recyclable and it will come in a reusable container to make it easier to dispose of. After purchasing one of their products, you'll pay for the shipping fee, however, you will receive your purchases in your order. If you'd prefer to receive your orders, consider starting with their "Sustainability Club" plan that includes three free delivery options. Their website doesn't break down the specifics of how many boxes you receive each month at $3 for a limited time offer. But they'll send out 10 boxes total per day as long as you opt for either two months or 12 months without any contracts.

3. LEAN

The word "Least squares" is probably not what everyone remembers but it's a term coined by Microsoft to describe the best possible way to create the layout for screens. In fact, it's a concept we've come across time and again from Microsoft, most notably with Windows 10 and its modern interface. Although we've tried and tested other techniques for creating layouts on our phones, tablets, computers, laptops and desktops, this is yet to reach mainstream. Instead, Leaking spaces have been the main concern recently, especially since it involves taking out all the extraneous information from websites and deleting unnecessary files. According to Google, this is the second factor most commonly mentioned when discussing clean design. Even though web builders often promote specific features like HTML5, this is still far from universal. And with apps, this means turning apps on through codes instead of actual code.

As we approach 2022, we can expect more companies to expand their offerings further and more people to adopt clean software-based layouts. Not only does this make the process of designing and organizing your space more effective, it also improves efficiency without breaking the bank. We expect this trend to continue throughout the entirety of the industry in 2021.

4. THE RISE OF ASTRO

This is more specifically linked to the wellness industry as it relates to exercise, diet and other factors. With the rising popularity of yoga, asanas, Pilates and meditation classes, people are waking up to the holistic potential of a balanced life. As we head towards 2022, we expect to see more yogi-inspired clothing with styles that are meant to appeal to that community. We also expect more innovative approaches to yoga and stretching routines to hit the market in the form of workouts and apps. Furthermore, we'll start to see a whole host of devices specifically built for users of any kind of yoga practice. Here are some examples, from Apple and Amazon, to Samsung and Energize. Regardless of where yoga content comes from, expect to see a steady stream of innovation in this segment. We might even see more options and training programs aimed at anyone or anyone who wants to become a certified practitioner.

5. A BAKER'S BOOT

After growing tired of running, bikers are getting increasingly comfortable with riding bicycles again. That's not necessarily bad news for those looking for bikes that look cool and rideable, because of course, a bicycle that rides on the pavement isn't going to look cheap nor affordable to purchase. And while we can't wait to see riders of all kinds take to the streets in search of a place to relax, what's really exciting for this trend is the possibility for more people to buy bikes that give people mobility options, whether that's solo or in groups. Of course, there are many benefits to owning a bike, and one major benefit is getting a bit more free time. Many experts believe that working out regularly and developing physical endurance will increase flexibility and therefore become smarter and more adaptable. Those who are looking for a bike to keep themselves active or otherwise healthy may see some added appeal in biking and walking around and maybe opt for some cycling classes. Along with that, a growing number of younger adults will likely have a stronger desire to get back into shape, not necessarily because of finances or social status, but simply because they love to do it and they get happier when they get back in step. As more and more people move around daily, we'll soon have bikes, cars, gyms and sports stadiums that cater to every budget and age group. An increasing amount of young adults are eager to engage in outdoor activities that can make them physically fit, and those who aren't will want those activities to make them mentally sharp.

6. PRAGMATIC WEARING & SHOES

We've seen this trend pick up traction over the past couple of years as more women choose to wear heels and tights. Most notable among those who followed it was Kate Moss, who wore high heels and tights.
